I made our unicorn templates for crafts – cutting, tracing, and stenciling. But my daughter kept coloring them instead and then asking for more. So I made her a set that’s actually designed for coloring, with real detail and scenes instead of blank outlines.

This collection has 20 free printable unicorn coloring pages for kids of all ages. There are chunky, simple unicorns for little hands that are still mastering crayons. Cute unicorns with rainbows and stars for your elementary-aged kiddos. And detailed fantasy scenes for the older kids who want something they can really spend time on.

Every page is included in one free PDF download at the bottom of this post. Just print the ones you want, or print them all and let your kids pick their favorites.

Easy Unicorn Coloring Pages (Ages 3–5)

These unicorn coloring sheets are made for the youngest artists. The lines are thick, the shapes are big, and there aren’t many tiny details to frustrate little hands.

If your toddler or preschooler is just getting comfortable with coloring, start here.

Simple Standing Unicorn

simple standing unicorn coloring page for toddlers

A classic side-view unicorn with a chunky body, a big round eye, and a short flowing mane. No background to worry about – just the unicorn and plenty of space to color.

Baby Unicorn Sitting

cute baby unicorn coloring page for preschoolers

This little one is sitting, looking right at you, with big eyes and a tiny horn. There are a few stars and hearts around it for extra coloring fun, but nothing too fiddly.

Unicorn Head Close-Up

easy unicorn head coloring page for kids

A large unicorn face that fills most of the page. The flowing mane gives your child a great excuse to go wild with every color in the box. This one is also great for practicing coloring in one direction – that mane has plenty of long sections to work with.

Unicorn on a Cloud

unicorn on a cloud coloring sheet for young kids

A simple unicorn resting on a big, puffy cloud with a couple of stars around it. Dreamy, sweet, and easy enough for a three-year-old to handle. Perfect for winding down at bedtime.

Unicorn with a Rainbow

free printable unicorn coloring pages for kids

A standing unicorn with a large, bold rainbow arching behind it. The rainbow arcs are wide enough for crayons, and it’s a great way to practice the color order – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. Or whatever order your kid decides.

If your kids love rainbows as much as mine do, grab our free rainbow templates and coloring pages.

Cute Unicorn Coloring Pages (Ages 5–8)

These pages have a bit more personality and detail than the easy set. You’ll find kawaii-style unicorns, fun scenes, and designs that’ll keep your elementary-aged kids engaged for a while. My daughter is in this sweet spot where she wants her coloring pages to look “real,” but still picks the cutest option every time. These are made for kids like her.

Kawaii Unicorn with a Donut

A chubby, adorable unicorn hugging a giant sprinkled donut. Hearts and stars surround them because let’s be honest, that IS how we all feel about donuts. If your kids love sweet treats as coloring subjects, check out our donut coloring pages.

Unicorn Running Through Clouds

This unicorn has a beautiful mane and tail streaming behind it as it gallops across puffy clouds. Stars scattered throughout. Your kids can go full rainbow on the mane or pick their own color scheme.

Unicorn and Kitten Friends

A unicorn hanging out with a cute little kitten wearing a tiny unicorn horn. Flowers around them. If your kid is torn between a unicorn phase and a cat phase, why not have both?

Sleeping Unicorn on a Crescent Moon

sleeping unicorn on crescent moon coloring page

Eyes closed, curled up on a crescent moon, surrounded by tiny stars and wisps of cloud. This one has a calm, cozy feel. My daughter colored hers in all purples and blues, and it looked gorgeous.

Unicorn Eating Ice Cream

cute unicorn eating ice cream coloring sheet for kids

A kawaii unicorn licking an ice cream cone with sprinkles. A few cupcakes nearby. Summer vibes, sugar vibes, happiness vibes.

Unicorn in a Flower Garden

unicorn in flower garden coloring page

A unicorn walking through a garden full of tulips, daisies, and sunflowers with butterflies floating around. Enough detail to be interesting but not so much that it overwhelms a second-grader.

If your kid is into butterflies, we’ve got free butterfly templates that pair nicely with this one.

Mama and Baby Unicorn

mama and baby unicorn coloring page for kids

Two unicorns – one large, one small – nuzzling together with hearts between them. This page works beautifully as a Mother’s Day card, a birthday card for Mom or Grandma, or just a sweet afternoon coloring project.

Detailed Unicorn Coloring Pages (Ages 8+)

For the older kids who think the cute pages are “too easy” (you know the type), these designs have more intricate details, flowing manes with lots of strands, and full fantasy backgrounds. They take longer to finish, which is great when you need your kid entertained for more than twelve minutes.

Winged Unicorn Flying Through a Starry Sky

winged unicorn alicorn coloring page flying through starry sky

A majestic alicorn (that’s a unicorn with wings) soaring through a sky full of stars, swirling clouds, and a big crescent moon. The wing feathers have enough detail to keep an older kid busy. Colored pencils work beautifully on this one.

Unicorn in Front of a Castle

unicorn and fairy tale castle coloring page

A unicorn rearing up in front of a fairy tale castle with towers, turrets, and a winding path. Trees and hills in the background. This one feels like a scene from a storybook – your child can color it and then make up the story to go with it.

Unicorn in an Enchanted Forest

unicorn in enchanted forest detailed coloring page

A unicorn walking through a forest with detailed leaves, mushrooms, small flowers on the forest floor, and a little stream. Lots of greens and earth tones in this one, which is a nice change from the usual rainbow palette.

Mermaid Unicorn

mermaid unicorn underwater coloring page for older kids

Half unicorn, half mermaid, fully magical. This one is set underwater with bubbles, seashells, coral, and small fish. My daughter saw this and said, “A mericorn?!” and now that’s what we call it. The underwater details make this a fun coloring challenge.

Unicorn with Decorative Mane

unicorn with detailed decorative mane coloring page

A unicorn with a mane and tail filled with swirling patterns, small flowers, and decorative details — almost like a mini mandala built into the design. This is the one your detail-loving kid will reach for. Colored pencils or fine-tip markers work best here since there are some smaller sections to fill in.

Unicorn Birthday Coloring Pages

Having a unicorn-themed birthday party? Print a stack of these and set them out at the coloring station. They double as a party activity and a take-home favor. Toss a few crayons in a bag with a coloring page and you’ve got a party favor that costs basically nothing.

Unicorn with Birthday Cake

unicorn birthday cake coloring page with Happy Birthday text

A unicorn standing next to a tiered birthday cake with candles, with balloons and confetti in the air. The “Happy Birthday” text is in bubble letters, so your kids can color in however they want.

Unicorn Wearing a Party Hat

A cute unicorn wearing a party hat and holding balloons, with streamers and confetti in the background. Festive and fun – works for any age.

Unicorn Birthday Banner

unicorn birthday banner coloring page for kids party

A unicorn alongside a decorative “Happy Birthday” banner with bunting flags, stars, and wrapped presents. This one works as both a coloring page and a birthday sign your kid can color and hang up.

Fun Things to Do with Finished Unicorn Coloring Pages

Once your kids finish coloring, don’t just toss them in the recycling. Here are a few ways to get more mileage out of those finished pages.

Make a DIY coloring book. Stack several finished (or unfinished) pages together, line them up, and staple along the spine. Let your kid design a cover on a blank sheet of paper. Instant homemade coloring book. These also make great party favors, just tuck a few crayons inside and you’re set.

Start a unicorn gallery wall. Tape or tack your child’s favorite finished pages to a wall in their room or playroom. Rotate in new ones as they color more. My daughter’s wall currently has about fifteen coloring pages on it and she gives “tours” to anyone who visits. It takes five seconds to hang one up with washi tape, and the pride on their face is worth it.

Laminate for reuse. If you have a laminator, laminate a few of the simpler pages and hand over dry-erase markers. Your kids can color, wipe clean, and start over endlessly. This trick is a lifesaver for restaurants and long car rides.

Turn them into puppets. Color a unicorn, cut it out, and tape it to a craft stick or a straw. Puppet show time! If your kids are anything like mine, the puppet show will have approximately zero character development and maximum drama.

Add glitter. After coloring, squeeze a thin line of white glue along the horn and the mane. Sprinkle glitter over the glue and shake off the excess. Warning: You will find glitter in your house for the next three to six months. But the sparkly unicorn is worth it.

Coloring Tips for Kids

A few things we’ve picked up from coloring approximately ten thousand pages over the years.

Match the tool to the age. Crayons are forgiving and great for kids under five – they won’t bleed through paper and they’re easy to grip. Markers are satisfying for ages five to eight because the colors are bold and bright. Colored pencils give older kids the control they want for shading and blending.

Print on cardstock if you can. Regular printer paper works fine, but if your kids use markers, the ink tends to bleed through. Cardstock prevents that and makes the finished page sturdy enough to display on a wall or use for a craft. It’s also a lot harder to accidentally rip.

Work from the inside out. Color the unicorn’s body first, then the mane and tail, then the background. This keeps little hands from dragging through wet marker ink or smudging crayon wax across the page.

Pick a color scheme. Pastels (light pink, lavender, baby blue) give the unicorn a dreamy, magical feel. Bold rainbow colors work beautifully on the mane and tail. And gold or bright yellow on the horn always looks great. But honestly, there’s no wrong way to color a unicorn. If your kid wants a green unicorn with an orange horn, that’s a beautiful green unicorn with an orange horn.
