Download 20 free printable Cinnamoroll-inspired coloring pages, from simple designs for toddlers to detailed scenes for big kids. All in one easy PDF.
My daughter came home from a playdate asking for coloring pages of “the bunny with the big ears.” It took a lot of questions and brainpower to figure out that she meant Cinnamoroll. Who, as my daughter now reminds me weekly, is not a bunny. He’s a puppy. The ears are for flying.
These 20 free printable Cinnamoroll-inspired coloring pages cover everyone from toddlers who are still scribbling to big kids who want a page they can disappear into for an hour. Every page is available as a free PDF download at the bottom of this post, so you can print the whole set or just the ones your kid wants to color.
If Cinnamoroll is new to you, here’s the short version of his background. He’s a Sanrio character from the same company that gave us Hello Kitty, and he debuted in 2001. The official story goes that he was born way up in the clouds and floated down to earth one day, where the owner of a little café spotted him and took him in. She named him Cinnamoroll because his curly tail looks just like a cinnamon roll.
He and Hello Kitty aren’t related, just famous coworkers. But he’s become such a star that he’s beaten her for the top spot in Sanrio’s annual character popularity poll for several years now. Not bad for a puppy everyone mistakes for a bunny!
What’s Inside the Free PDF
The set is organized by skill level because a two-year-old and a ten-year-old do not want the same coloring page.
You’ll find 6 simple pages with thick outlines and big open shapes for the littlest fans, 8 sweet scene pages for elementary kids, and 6 detailed pages for older kids who like small spaces and intricate backgrounds. All 20 are black-and-white, sized for standard letter paper.
Simple Cinnamoroll Coloring Pages for the Littlest Fans
These pages have the thickest lines and the least detail. If your toddler’s coloring style is best described as enthusiastic, start here.
The big happy face. Just his face, one giant smile, and lots of open space. The round cheeks are begging to be colored pink.
Napping on a cloud. According to the official Sanrio backstory, he was born up in the clouds, so a cloud nap felt right. Wide shapes and zero frustration for tiny hands.
Standing and waving. Standing and waving. A full-body hello, with that little spiral tail peeking out to the side. There’s no background on this one, so it’s where most kids first hit the big question: what do you do with a white puppy on white paper? The tips below have answers.
Holding a heart. One Cinnamoroll, one big heart. Fold the paper in half after coloring, and you’ve got a homemade Valentine or a just-because card for Grandma with plenty of space to write heartfelt notes.
Cinnamon roll snack time. The puppy meets his namesake. He’s sitting next to a swirly cinnamon roll almost as big as he is, and the swirl is a satisfying shape for little hands to trace with a crayon.
The sleepy curl. Eyes closed, ears draped, tail tucked in. The perfect coloring page to wind down from a busy day right before bedtime.
Sweet Scenes for Elementary Kids
These Cinnamoroll coloring pages have more going on. Backgrounds, props, and enough detail to hold a first grader’s attention without overwhelming them.
Flying through the sky. Those giant ears aren’t just for looks. In the character’s story, he uses his ears to fly, and this page has him soaring past stars and puffy clouds.
The tea party. A little table, a teapot, and two cups. Perfect for the kid who loves tea time and runs a pretend café out of your living room.
Baking day. Mixing bowl, wooden spoon, and a plate of yummy cookies. My kids love cooking and baking and, of course, making cinnamon rolls!.
Riding the rainbow. He’s sliding down a rainbow with his ears streaming behind him. The arcs are wide enough for crayons, so it’s a sneaky way to practice color order. If your kids are big on rainbows, our free rainbow templates pair well with this one.
Rainy day umbrella. Gentle raindrops and one big umbrella make this a great coloring page to take out on a wet, rainy spring day. Colored raindrops are a fun way to break the rule that rain has to be blue.
Strawberry picnic. A blanket, a basket, and strawberries everywhere. Big enough for a preschooler to manage, plentiful enough to keep an eight-year-old quiet through dinner prep.
Up, up with balloons. A whole bunch of balloons, and every single one is a chance for a different color. Reminds me of the movie Up, except you don’t have to worry about the balloons popping since Cinnamoroll can fly!
Stargazing on the moon. Sitting on a crescent moon with stars scattered around. This one turns out gorgeous in dark blues and purples with the stars left white.
Detailed Pages for Big Kids
Sanrio characters are cute, and sometimes older kids may think they are for babies. But these Cinnamoroll coloring pages have fine lines, busy backgrounds, and lots of details for teens.
The café counter. The café from his origin story, in full detail. He’s behind a pastry case stacked with cakes and rolls, with steaming mugs and jars of various contents in the back. This is the one for kids who color with precision.
Flying over the rooftops. A big sky scene with a tiny town below. Rooftops, windows, and clouds give older kids plenty of small sections to work through. This one reminds me of Peter Pan!
The flower garden. Tulips, daisies, and a couple of butterflies drifting by. The flowers and leaves alone could take a fourth grader a whole quiet hour to fill in.
Dessert wonderland. Cupcakes, macarons, and frosting swirls floating all around him. Pastels look amazing here, though I can imagine a neon version that would make this coloring page a pretty cool wall decoration.
The starry night. An intricate nighttime scene with detailed stars, wisps of cloud, and the moon glowing behind him. This page is for your space enthusiast, featuring Cinnamoroll against a celestial background.
The fancy frame. A portrait surrounded by a border of hearts, stars, and cloud swirls. This page would look great framed and set on a desk, bringing a smile to your face whenever you look at it.
A Few Tips Before the Crayons Come Out
The official Cinnamoroll character palette is soft blue, pink, and cream, and pastel crayons or colored pencils get you that look. But there’s no rule. I love it when my kids use their imagination and ignore the “right” colors completely.
The trickiest part of coloring a white puppy is that he’s, well, white. Show your kids they can leave his fur blank and color the background instead, or add a whisper of light blue along his outline for a soft shadow effect. It makes the white pop instead of looking unfinished.
For the cloud and sky pages, watercolor pencils are worth digging out. Color lightly, brush over with a damp paintbrush, and the sky turns dreamy with almost no effort.
What to Do With the Finished Pages
Coloring is the main event, but the finished art doesn’t have to go straight into the recycling pile when nobody’s looking.
Tape a few pages up as a rotating bedroom gallery. Glue a colored page to cardstock, cut around the character, and add a popsicle stick to make a puppet. Or punch a hole in the corner of the cloud pages and hang a few from a string for a quick DIY mobile. There are so many projects you can create out of these Cinnamoroll coloring pages!
