How to Play the Thanksgiving Turkey Feathers Dice Game
Materials:
- Free Printable Turkey Template (available for download below)
- Scissors
- Mini clothespins (you can use regular-sized clothespins but I prefer the mini ones for kids)
- Dice (one per player)
- Coloring supplies (markers, crayons, colored pencils)
Instructions:
1. Download and Print the Turkey Template
Start by downloading our free printable turkey template. Print out as many copies as you need for your players. Each player will need their own turkey to decorate!
You may want to print on cardstock or laminate the turkey game cards for added durability. I recommend laminating the turkeys if you plan to play the game multiple times, especially with younger children.
2. Color and Decorate Your Turkey
Once printed, let the creativity flow! Use markers, crayons, or colored pencils to color and decorate your turkey. Encourage players to personalize their turkeys with unique designs, patterns, and even fun accessories. The more colorful, the better!
3. Cut Out the Turkeys
After decorating, carefully cut out the turkeys.
4. Set Up the Game
Each player gets six clothespins, a dice, and a turkey game card. The goal is to collect as many turkey feathers (clothespins) as fast as possible!
5. Roll the Dice
Appoint someone to yell “GO!” to start the game. Players roll the dice and clip the clothespin to the corresponding numbered feather on the turkey.
6. Keep Playing
Continue rolling the dice until one player gets all six clothespins on the turkey.
Alternatively, you can set a timer for a minute, and whoever has the most clothespins on his or her turkey when the time is up is the winner.
