3D Edible Marshmallow Polar Bears

Materials:

  • 1 regular or jumbo marshmallow
  • 8 mini marshmallows
  • Water
  • Toothpick
  • Black food coloring

Instructions:

1. Carefully dip one flat side of the 4 mini marshmallows in water and place them dry side down. These are the polar bear’s legs! The water will make the marshmallows sticky and act as a natural glue. If you wish, you can use the toothpick or a paintbrush to apply the water.

2. Place the regular marshmallow on top of the 4 mini marshmallows.

3. “Glue” the two ears, muzzle, and tail on the regular marshmallow by applying water to one flat side of the mini marshmallows as we did with the legs. You may want to hold the mini marshmallows in place for a few seconds to let the “glue” dry.

4. Dip the tip of the toothpick in black food coloring.

5. Make two dots above the muzzle and one in the middle of the muzzle to make the eyes and nose with the toothpick. You can carefully draw them on with the toothpick. I made very shallow holes with the toothpick in the marshmallow and give the black food coloring a few seconds to seep into the marshmallow and spread.

Aren’t they just adorable! You have to be a little careful picking them up because the “glue” isn’t the strongest, but the polar bears should hold up well enough for your kids to use as gentle pretend play.

And of course, it wouldn’t be long before your kids beg to eat them. So long, fluffy marshmallow polar bears!
